Who is a victim/survivor?

A victim/survivor is someone who has experienced any unwelcome sexual behaviour which has created feelings of fear, humiliation, intimidation or violation. It can include unwanted touching or remarks, sexual harassment or rape with physical injury or threat to life. Sexual assault is a crime, which can occur during childhood, adolescence, adulthood or older age.

The term 'victim/survivor' acknowledges that whilst the women and men we work with are victims of a crime, they also have an enormous capacity to survive.
